We are in!

Happy New Year!!!

It made for a very busy, stressful holiday - but we are in!  The old house was completely cleaned out and handed over as of the 26th of December (a full 2 days earlier than planned YAY).  We spent our Christmas and New Years holidays cleaning, unpacking, washing dishes, doing laundry, running to Target..... It felt like I never stopped moving.  But, we cooked our first meal in the new house Christmas morning and my son started school on the 3rd with clean clothes and all his supplies. We rock!! :D

My sewing machine came out to play, unfortunately it was at the kitchen table and only to hem the boy's jeans for school.  BUT, it survived the move and all the pieces were accounted for. I need to make my first run to Joann's today, so I hope I am able to restrain myself from doing too much considering I don't have my room finished yet.

The craft room is full of boxes and ready for organizing.  I have been getting the downstairs put together so that DH can start working on the furniture for it.  He promised me a super cool cutting table that will double as a build station for his helicopters & airplanes.  I need cabinets and shelves for my stuff as well as a place to hide away all his tools and spare parts.  My visions for that room are probably a little lofty, but if we work together I think we can make it happen.

And, in true 'Lisa' style, I must have decided that this was not enough change and excitement for one year.  I start a new job next month.  The plan is for this change to allow more time at home (less time commuting). This will mean less rushing and stressing out over all the routine mom stuff that never goes away and more time for living (aka sewing :D ).  Here's to a fantastic 2012!!!
