I have had my machine for a month now and not a whole heck of a lot of sewing has been done. I gave myself a pass because I didn't know much about it, then it was because I needed some additional supplies, then I said it was because I hadn't started sewing lessons yet, and most recently it has been because I had so many ideas and haven't been able to narrow it down. But...really...this is all bull! I have played around a little and done some stuff, but I have been putting off any actual projects because this machine is intimidating. I have decided that I will no longer fear the machine! :) At its heart, it is just a sewing machine and I have been using on for years. I have a list of simple projects and a closet full of fabric. It is time to get started. Maybe if I put it down on 'paper' I will do it.
Project #1 is going to be......Check Book Covers.
Sounds like a simple project and I will actually be able to use it. Like the rest of the world, I only write two checks but I have to carry it with me or I won't have it when the daycare tuition is due again. It might as well be cute and maybe even monogrammed. I will give myself 3 days to finish this - meaning I have to have it completed and photographed no later than Saturday. Wish me luck!
NOTE: I found this project during a blog-hopping session and I apologize now because I cannot find the source of the post. It is a pretty generic pattern (just used an existing cheapie cover as a template), but if you recognize this image PLEASE contact me and I will give credit for the tutorial.
