About This Blog

My name is Lisa and I am an aspiring domestic diva. My wonderful husband, referred to here as DH, is a graphic designer and far more creative than I am. We are both from California and after 6 years in Texas, I'm still a California girl. I am mom to two great kids, Bubba is almost 7 and Princess Sweat Pea will be two any minute.

I work full time as an accountant which probably has greatly contributed to my lack of independent creativity. I like lists and instructions and formulas - free form projects are scary and overwhelm me very quickly. Being a working mom is hard enough - after I get home from work and pick up the kids it is right into dinner, homework, baths, story, bedtimes, dishes, laundry, etc. etc. When I do find time for me, I want it to be relaxing and enjoyable.  For me, that means creating something of value without a lot of stress and aggravation.  This blog will be the efforts, successes and failures I make over the next months (maybe years).  Each new post may be days, weeks, or even months apart.  As I find something new or begin a new project, I will document its progress here.  Posts will either be infrequent and thoughtful or harried rantings typed at midnight. Guess only time will tell.

Consider this a disclaimer.  I am not a blogger and as the name suggests, I am not creative on my own.  The majority of the projects and ideas here will be gathered from the many resources available to me - blogs of those much more talented than me as well as the ideas of my many creative and smart friends. The purpose of this blog is to keep a record of my creative endeavors and to track my own progress. If something I do or say helps someone else, that is great but not my main objective. I can only hope not to offend anyone and will give credit where possible for anything that I do.

I hope you enjoy my journey as much as I do.  Happy Crafting!

  1. You don't give yourself nearly enough credit! You ARE creative!! We should get together and do crafty stuff while the kiddos play sometime!
